John Denver is a popular singer and songwriter who has touched a multitude of people through his music. The majority of his hits are inspired by Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell in New Mexico. He fell in love Colorado and settled down in Aspen. A few took the road toward Colorado after hearing Denver's popular anthems to his adopted state. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame said the following: John Denver is the only actor to be a symbol of Colorado. Denver became one of the very first Hall of Fame inductee in the year 2011. Denver is the symbol of Colorado to many throughout the world. It is commonplace to meet people from different nations, including New Zealanders. They say "I am from Colorado" then they reply "Oh John Denver. Brown admitted. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a short stint in smaller folk groups was Take Me Home Country Roads which was co-written by Bill Danoff. Danoff had written the song with the inspiration of Johnny Cash, but Denver was able to hear an early version of the song and realized it would eventually become a Top 10 smash. After a few days of performing to a packed audience at Washington D.C., the singer recorded his song.
