April Ross

April Ross is one of the few female beach volleyball stars to capture medals at more than one Olympics. Alix Klineman, taking part for the very first time at Tokyo's Olympic Games and will attempt to win her third gold medal. Ross's dream is to earn her first Olympic Gold. Perhaps she has one chance, at 39 years old. Her optimism is that she will be able to win top awards. Ross through NBC Boston, said that if the team plays very well, or even at all, they could win a gold. In addition, I'm planning be relying on a little bit of luck. Ross was born in California, Costa Mesa in 1982. Her parents and her sister were residents there. Ross went on to play in numerous sports during her time at Newport Harbor High School. Her prep athletic career included indoor volleyball along with basketball as well as running and track. Though she excelled in indoor volleyball but it was apparent that her skills were above average. In her college profile, she was an outside-hitting hitter middle blocker and setter in her volleyball playing career during high school. As a tribute to her efforts she was awarded the Gatorade Award for National Player in 1999. Her volleyball skills also brought her the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in 2000. Ross and Klineman have been performing their roles in the year 2017. But, Ross was an important player in the world of beach volleyball before the pairing. She has won numerous tournaments, including one with a legendary volleyball player. Jennifer Kessy was her partner during six years between 2007 and the year 2013. She also worked with Klineman as well as herself. Kessy was Ross's teammate at the World Championships of 2009. They eventually won an Olympic silver medal during the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the trio to beat out for gold. Ross Jennings replaced May-Treanor when she announced her retirement. The pair took bronze at the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross started her college professional career playing for the Trojans of USC in high school. This was years before Ross made her debut on the beach and became a professional. Ross's time in the Trojans was impressive. In 2000 she was voted Pac-10 Freshman and NCAA Freshman of the Year. She was also named an All-American. Additionally, she was an integral player in helping the Trojans reach their way to the Final Four. The second season of her career she was devastated by a personal tragedy, but earned the distinction of being an All-American. Over her final 2 years of participation in the Trojans team, she led the team to win a national championship every time. She had established herself as an all-time legend by winning the 2003-04 Honda Sports Award as the most outstanding female college volleyball player. Ross had been an international studies student at USC. Margie Ross did not get to witness Ross reach beach volleyball's highest levels. Ross's mother passed away from cancer of the breast in the year 2001. Ross had just become sophomore at USC. This meant that Ross continues to be close to her deceased parent. Margie has always been a source of inspiration for her, both on and off the beach.
